As a lasy blogger as I'm I want to wish you all A Happy New Year. A little early, but suddenly it is by the end of January ....

Hometime...

Today I have been playing with Gretchen. We quilted this Mini Medallion from Sew Hot's Mini og the Month club. I think this will be a cute little summer tablecloth. It feel great to play with summer colors now. There has been a lot of fog lately.
When I look at what I have done the last month ,there are no doubt...I wish the summer will comeback soon. I had to make me one of these cute little block. The pattern are in nr 1 of Todays Quilter's magazine. It is called Soothing Sunflowers and are based on an original block from 1934. I love sunflowers so I must make more of this fun and easy block. May bee in blue or red...
Last summer I was at a exhibition with a lot of Kaffe Fassett quilts, and I found some fabrics to buy. Now is the time to start playing with some of them.I think these Little Butterflies pattern from Laundry Basket Quilts will be great in Kaffe Fassett fabrics. ... Summer theme once again...
Oh yes.. I have done some secrets too.... My gift for my SSCS 2015 partner are done and just waiting to go in mail... So there are a little Christmas gift making going on too... I'm not all in summermode...
I tok this photo last week, not winter here yet...just fog and the sun behind it.
Now I have to get back and play with fabrics...
Have a great week...have fun and take care..

Halloween fabrics....

Sometimes I just feel for playing with some ideas.... and do something of my " difficult to use " fabrics.
This time I wanted to make me some Haloween items... Small and easy to make tablerunnere.I got these fabrics in Birmingham a year ago. Lovely colors ,but the black one are a bit bizare. Hearses and chests. But for Haloween it must be ok :-)

This one are mase from a mini charmpack and the bizare fabrics,in white this time.
A lot of scary items her... :-)
I don't selebrate Halloween, but I will use two of the tablerunnere... I like the colors.
Have fun if you will selebrate and knock on some doors.....

Playing......

September has been filled with fun and fabrics, and a lot of great family happening. It has been the baptism of Aurora Amélie and atumn vacation from school ( for Emma). Luckey me had every body at my home for almost a week. Great ,fun days.
One more great happening was a class with Jen Kingwell at Katrines Quilte Stue. Oh,what a great day. I'm so facinated by Jen's work. I love all the fabrics she use in her Quilts. We did not sew a lot during the day,but we started on some blocks from the Bring Me Flowers quilt.( the one on the table) This will be a slow work, just for fun. I will use as match as I can from my leftovers. May be it will turn out to be a memory quilt...
This is my first block of the quilt. Some old and some new fabrics.Tula Pink - Liberty - some from an old Bom.
My first priority now are this quilt by Jen K. The Circle Game. Just started on block 14 of 16 to nigth. Most of the fabrics are from my leftovers too.... Yes I have a lot!
Some times I play with new fabrics too.... Well almost new.. Some fabrics, like these Libertyfabrics are difficult to cut into... But I manage to do it,and I like my two new tablerunnere. ( and more leftovers to play with )
This year I got a new Bom,from Sew Hot in UK. A miniature made from new fabrics. This is made with Tula Pink fabrics. I have a new kit on it's way to me now... Wonder what it is...
Ever since the Jen Kingwell class,I have been thinking of the Designer board she had. It is an idea by Lori Holt,I belive. I have seen it at Fat Quarter Shop, and at Lori's blog.I could have ordred it....but I had to try to make one by myself. Not the best result, but now I know how to make me another.
This weekend I will play with my fabrics and hope to have more to show soon.....
Untill then, have fun, take care and play with colors...
Hugs :-)

Quiet days at home..

Back from Birmingham there has been some quiet days at home... Thinking and remembering all the fun I was a part of.With about 1000 Quilts to look at and 300 shops to look in keept me busy.
This time I hoped to manage to look all over, but I realy don't know if I manage that.
I had promise some of my friends in Australia to look for Quilts from "Down under" and I found a lot beautiful from there..
Just take a close look...

I found some tiny Quilts too...
A great miniature...
Luke Haynes had a lot of big beautiful Quilts there too. I have seen some Quilts made by him on FB and in magasines and was looking forward to see them in " real life". Even got more fan of hvis work now.. :-)
Another Quilter I was looking forward to see more from was Annabel Rainbow. I saw some of her Quilts last year ,and want to see more. These two artist are so diffrent, but their Quilts make me look more than one time...
This are one of Annabel Rainbows work..I love the look of this little girl... And the way she use words and stories in her quilting...

Here are the EQA Quilts from Norway.. My Elvis was in the building :-)
Home from Oslo and Birmingham I found these treasures in my suitcase. Most of them from Birmingham but the four pattern from Kathy Schmitz are "a must have" Anne Heidi at Lappemor help me to get :-) Thank you Anne Heidi ! Lot of fun stuff to play with during fall and winter....
I had a little bit of Annabel Rainbow with me home too... Two copies of her Quilts made in to tea towels. They are not for use..!! They are to look at and remember the days at the festival of quilt, the walking around, some time all by my self, sometime two and two. All the "look what I found....and where did you got that ...and you must come with me and see this "when we meet for lunch. All the talking and laughing at dinner in the evening.. And not to forget hos proud I'm of two of the girls who made clothes for the Festival Fashion Show.
After coming home I have been playing with Magda and Grethchen and we manage to finish my Natures Journey by Hatched and Patched. I started this quilt as a part of Donnas SAL ,and now it is done and ready for use on cold days :-)
Thank you Donna for hosting the SAL and Anni for the pattern.

See you soon... Hugs :-)

It was my birthday present from Nemo and her family. She was going with me...with a few more fan..

As you can see we where not all by our selfe. I belive it was about 20 000 peoples.

Sir Paul did a great consert. It is still hard to belive I have been at a consert with on of the Beatles.
And with Paul, the cutes of them all ....  <3

The rest of July has been great times with the girls and the kids. A little boattrip to Denmark, and great time her at home. I even manage to do some sewing.

This summer has been great for my flowers...rain,rain and more rain... No need for suncreem....now I hope fore a Indiansummer. Cold nigths, but beautiful blue sky and sun...I cross my fingers fore that..

At last I want to show a photo from the top of the mountain. Here you can see the little "town" where I live. I can see my house. If you look at the road by the river, tru the wood and find a yellow house, mine are a dark one close to the road... It is realy hard to see, if you don't know it is there..

See you all son,and then I have a lot to show and tell......
Untill then : take care..

50 years in colour..

This week I have been to Hadeland Glassverk to see a
Kaffe Fassett exhibition - 50 years in colour.
This was a different exhibition than the one I saw in Bath last
year. There it were mostly Quilting items, here it was quilting, knitting ,paitings and
embrodery.
Most of mine photos are of his Quilting work... I love the way he use colours, and
manage to "forget" if there are some "not perfekt" pieces ....
Quilters as we are,my friends and I ,we startet to look and find some of our favorite designers in his works. We have been working in a Quiltshop and know some old fabrics. My friend found a lot of Roberta Horton fabrics, and I found old Debbie Mumms... They are our nr.1 favorite designers from that "old"time :-)
I hope you will take some time and look at this great quilts.

I had to take photos of some of his pillows ....
And some knitting... My mother use to make tapestries ,and this made me think of some of her pattern.
It was a great summerday, this are the view outside Hadeland Glassverk.
.... I have done a little stitching this month also....my June blocks of Natures Journey are done.
For July I will make the big senter block...
Of course I had to buy some new Kaffe Fassett fabrics, and dig out my old one and start to play with them... I have a lot going on in my sewing room... It is a mess, but I hope to show more of my items soon.
Untill then take care .
 Hugs :-)
