The NQF meeting

The photos didn't came out in the order I would like them to do, but who care...I have a lot to tell and to show.So I will start with some great quilts from the exhibition first, ( and I have asked if it is ok to show them. LOL ) The firs one are a little quilt made after an idea from a Japanese magasin almost only with Japanese fabrics. It is my friend Bjørg who has made it. I think it is beautiful. She are a great quilter.
Here are another beautiful quilt. It is my friend Lisbeth's lovely Baltimore Quilt. A queen- size hand quilted master piece. I hope to rember to take a photo of the whole quilt some times.
Here are a photo of one of my quilts. I have only used leftovers from different Thimbleberry project. All made by sewing-maskine.I think it fell true with the great quilt above.
When we started on our trip to the NQF-meeting some of us arrange a coffe break on the way. It last a long time, we had so mutch to talk and laugh abouth...
I think we entertain a lot of people who sat near by us. It was so fun to talk abouth what we needed and hoped to get from all the shops, and how we belived the meeting would be. It was more than 600 mostley ladies registert and abouth 20 shops. Have a look at Abyquilt's blog, she has great photos from the shops.
I bought a lot of pattern and kits. ( wonder when I'll be able to do them. LOL ) Some I have a plan with. The pattern on top I intend to make a coaster for my father. He loves to pick Cloudberry. The saying are: the mouth filled with gold from the mountain. The pattern are from Nothern Quilts. The little box are a kit from Jordbærstedet.( A little butterfly bag.) And I got myself a Japanese-kit. And a new Bom from Quiltegården.- Fairy all through the year. It is a young girl who has desiged it.
I also found a lot of other items I realy needed. :-) Somthing I know I needed and some of them just jumped in my bag....I was looking for a big botle of Glue.Bast-It and silk thread....I have some big plans. And I was looking for diffrent thread to use in stitchery. But I didn't know I needed new ear-rings or all that fabrics....or the Lickity Grip. :-)
Here are the only photo I took during the banquet. It was more than 400 ladies .The photo are of Hanne taking a photo of us at ouer table. She had a kind of traveling fever, going on her big trip.
Here are some friends of me waiting to get there quilts. I think the photo says everything abouth these days....The little badge above says in Norwegian:Vennligst ikke rør . ( Please non't toutch ) And if they feel like I did...I didn't want anyone to touch me. I would be afraid all the thing I have seen and heard and learned would just get out in the air just like a broken ballon. We all needed time to let it all sink in our mind. I'm still working on it. :-)
At the end I like to show you a quilt I made to the shop. It is so easy , only squares, what I think made the quilt are the stitching. It is the reason I needed more diffrent thread....
I hope to show more photos from the meeting later... You must have a look around with the other Norwegian-bloggers. I think a lot of them has some great photos....
Have a great day and take care.... HUGS.

Countdown...

I'm couting down to the Norwegian Quilt Associations big event this weekend. Only one more day , so of to Olavs Gård to meet all the other ladies from all over Norway. There are a lot of us going from Elverum Quiltelag. I think it is going to be a great fun....but may be expensive. There are more than 20 stores comming, and I don't know what I Must have. I'm also going to a talk with Kaffe Fasett.
I had to make me a new bags. The little one are Lykkefugl (good luck-bird)from Nothern Quilt
And the big one are from an old Homespun (vol.8 No.11) called A Woman's Glam Bag. I fell hard when I saw it in the magasin. Now I got my self a new bag to bring with me.
One day after Easter my friend Vigdis and I was talking abouth old quilts we had made some years ago. And I remember these two smal quilts. The first one are from my first BOM a pattern from Debbie Mumm. I made it only with her fabrics. When I saw it I think it looks great, time has been kind to it.
The second quilt are older. One of my first I think. I had just learn how to applique hearts, and I remember sitting out on my porch trimming all the Hourglass Blocks. A great quilt to remember all the old fabrics.
We got a visit of Cyan and her "mother" at Easter. Here are the very first meting between Cyan and Jacob. We didn't know how they respond on each other, so Jacob stayd in his travelling-cage.But there was no problem so we let him out soon, but keep a close eye on them.

The last photo are what I realy got to have from my trip to Trondheim last weekend.I was able to get to Quiltegården and Jordbærstedet....I tryed not to buy a lot, thinking abouth this weekend. ;-) The book just jumped in my bag..."from my heart" by The Birdhouse. Great stitchery book.I also got me some Quilting thread. Somtimes I think my sewing maskine eat thread..... I also got Yli Silk thread and Glue-Bast-It.( So now I'm ready to applique.) I got my self a two new fabrics and a little Stitchery frame. All great buyings.
I will take photos to show you from all the happenings this weekend. So untill next time...have some great days. I know I will....

I have at last got my first part of the Spring Fling Round Robin ready and send it out in the world. Everybody make so great start blocks so I have a hard time to deside if it would pass or if I should make a new one....but it was my first choice so I let my little darlings out on them self. I hope the one who get them take god care and have fun . I have got a wonderful block from a lady and are thinking what to make next on it.....
Yesterday my husband and I went to Oslo to visit Nemo and her boy friend. Our oldest daugther paid a little visit to. It was a beautifull day. Here are a photo ,taken from the car,of Mjøsa. The biggest lake in Norway. It was so great to see the blue sky, the sun and the ground without snow.
I want to be able to walk outdoors in shoes and not to have to wear ankle boot any more...( snow, snow go away.... ;-)
In Oslo we went to a market. It was a lot of peoples and plenty to look at....I found something I just needed....
I got myself a Chinese box to put next to some of my pincushions. And some smal cups with saucers....So if anyone want a smal cup of coffee, please come. A friend of me say, when I told her,I know a girl who could need sutch a little cup..... She never drink all her coffee... ;-)
I also got myselv a new (old) sewing maskine.Isn't it just great. I have wanted some of these for a long time and now I got one... It is in good shape and have all the sew feets in the little scoop.
I have not tryed it yet, but I will soon.

Last week I got the second parcel from the Christmas Club 2008. A great kit made from a Hatched and Patched pattern. My goal are to make them all when I got them....
I also got a fat quater who I won on Fabrics Mom's blog. It is great and I have to use it for somthing specialy......
I got a wonderfull flower from my friend Lappehøna this weekend. Look how great they are out in the snow. They are outside during the day, but rest inside in the night. I'm afraid it will be to cold. Now you can see why I want to get rid of all the snow. I long to have more flowers....Pouring...pouring...
I must show you the newest member of our family....My oldest daugther's cat, Cyan. She are so sweet...they are coming to stay some days during Easter. It will be so fun and wonder what it will be with Jacob and her. They have not meet yet....A lot of No and Ups I think.....

Work in progress

Last weekend I went to a class with Kristin Pollen. We was going to make Star in a Star blocks. Working two and two together, and make two equal quilts. One was sewing and the other was cutting fabrics and ironing. My partner and I manage to make 24 blocs. It was what we want to make....two small quilts for the summer. To use out in the evenings. Here are our blocs with some blocs from some other girls...
Here you can see our blocks on the floor the way we decided it to look. ( If we could manage to remember how it should look) I took this photo, I don't trust my memory. But some time it dosen't help...
Here are the result. I like it, I have to pick some fabrics for the border and I will do that to morrow at the store. So far I have only used from my stash....( I feel so good) But the fabrics has not shrink a bit.( As you can see the photo didn't help. I manage to mix some of the blocs, but who bother? )
I have been able to finish the first block of Truly Scrumptios by Cinderberry Stitches. I have these blocks as a slow work.Only to relax with. I love to stitch and listen to TV.....
Yesterday I found a new BOM .....It is called "Noah's Ark" made by Lynette Andersson. It is free and you can find it on her blog. I will make them all,and get
me a little new stitchery quilt in a year....I love to get more to do. ;-)

Have a great day. I hope to get some fabrics for the border on the summer quilt to morrow.

I think it will be a busy day at work.....we are starting a big sale, with lots of fabrics, books and pattern.

A beautiful morning.

The weather this morning was so beautiful. Almost zero degrees and sun from a blue sky. I should have been out for a walk, but I had make some plans for the class I will teatch how to use the Square in a Square- ruler. And by the time I had done it the weather was awful.......It was raining. So I miss the sun to day. Here are what I was working on. A little Storm at sea quilt. I made it in red and green and I think I'm going to name it "Storm in the Forest" because where I live there are no sea. I live almost as far as you can go from the sea in Norway.I will show how to make all the pieces in the class , so I will not do more untill after the class.
I also made this little tabel-runner from some of my leftovers. This are also a modell for the class. It is realy fun to play with the ruler.
Here are two of my January project. The snow-man are a BOM made by Kathy Schmitz. Called :Ring in the New. I have ordred it from Little Quilts. And the other are the first kit from Honeysuckle Cottage Christmas Club 2008. It is a Lynette Anderson Design. I love the both of them and are keeping an eye on the mail box hoping for the next shipment...
Last week I got mail from Quilt Books Usa, a Homespun magasin and a pattern from The Rabbit Factory, called Jacobs Garden. I saw it on Kathy Schmits blog and it was so great. I hope to be able to start making it soon. It has both piecing and applique. A great quilt I think and the name says it is a Must Do item.

Have a great day, I'm going to do a little more on my second blok of Butterfly Garden. I hope to show it next time...

I allmost forget to tell....I have signed up at Spring Filng Round Robin and are making the start block also. ;-)

I wonder if I need more to do now????
