Christmas in July....

I read a lot about Christmas in July and it has realy been that for me. :-) When my father came he brought a new christmas dinner set ,who my morher has painted. She realy know how to make great China paiting.And from the Christmas club I got the kit of this great guy. Rudy are made after a pattern from Melly and me. Guess who is lokking forward for Christmas. And to day I learn that Chookyblue are hosting a new Secret Santa Christmas Swap. It is going to be so fun.
I have manage to finish a lot during the summer. I have send this to my PIF partner Margy . I hope she liked it. The saying are : Badedag ( Bath day)
I have also post my Four Seasons Quilt to a lady somewhere in the whorld..... Realy hope she likes it. And I'm keeping an eye on the postman waiting for mine quilt..... It has been so great beeing a part of this Swap.So thank you Margaret for hosting it.
I have also done the binding of this quilt from a class earlier this year. So now my wisp's are shrinking a little, but..... There are a BIG but.....

Ups he didn't bring Chicken Feather. I manage to get it on Lille Stasjon when I started to work after my vacation.I love the books of Bronwyn Hayes... ;-) Back to the pattern, as you can see I have started on one. Hekseliv (Witch life) made of AnnAKa. The other are pattern from Lappestua, Crab-apple Hill and Bareroots. A lot to do for me :-)
When Nemo return from France I got this wonderfull gifts from them. Her and her boyfriend. Two thimbles from Paris and some new fabrics designed by Pat Sloan. I love them , wonder what to make...

My collection of thimbles are growing fast, thanks to great friends. I got these from Lisbeth ( the one from Røros) and Reidun. Thank you girls, I will remember you....
When I was "baby sitting" Nemos rats they realy looked over my progress on the stitching. It was Quiltmakers from The Freckles Collection who the liked best. I can't understand why... LOL

My friend and co-worker Irene stoped for a little chat and some coffee on saturday. Jacob was so happy to see her, as you can see he had to give her a realy good hug (klem). They had not been seeing each other since Leanne was visiting Trysil last year.I belive Jacob (and I) want her to come more often. ;-)
We always love when great friend are stopping by ...

Holidays at Home

This holiday I have been at home,but there has been lots of happenings. I have been looking after Nemo's rats, while she and her boy friens are traveling in France( luckey them) The rats are no problem to look after, but I use to spoil them Nemo says, giving them to mutch to eat.
To day my father started to exchange the rest of our windows. He started last year, but to morrow it will all be done.Cyan was quick to follow him and look what he was doing, or may be if he was doing it the right way.She only had a quick look before she and her mother started on they way back home.
I have got lots of mail in my vacation. (I'm clever to keep the postman busy ) From Australia I got Rosalie's book - Gift. Lots of things I want to make in it.Realy a great buying.I also got two issues of Homespun. Mutch "want to do " there too. From England I have ordred Pretty Little Pincushions. A realy great book with lots of new ideas. And at last I got two pattern from America.Two stitcheri-pattern from Crab-apple Hill. Hocuspocusville and Bluebird. Wonder when I will be able to do all I want?
I got mail from Nadine, she has been my special angel,helping me with the pattern of this quilt shown in Marie Claire idees.She even add some great strawberry fabrics in the parcel. Thank you Nadine you are so kind with me. Klem.
One saturday I went to a local second hand market. Here are what I got.... a sharpener made like an old sewing mashine and this old scissor. There are smal angels faces and lots of flowers on the little scissor. Great buyings I think.
I have been replacing some of my quilts and as you can see Cyan had no problem to use the one who got of my wall.

I have manage to do a lot of quilting in my hollydays. Here are a little quilt for a special little guy.
And this one made for my mother in law's 75. birthday.We were cellebrating her last saturday.
This little quilt are one from Jordbærstedet's stitching klubb. I got the pre-printed pattern and fabrics. Then I have to decide what to make. I made a little wall-quilt to put my quilt- pins on.The saying are "ut på tur- aldri sur" Mening somthing like this: Always happy on a trip.
I have atlast done this quilt, a BOM I got from Jordbærstedet some years ago.I realy love it and think it looks so great. I wonder why I didn't got it done before.
The last item this time are the elephants from Noa's ark.I love this little BOM. It is so fun to see what animal Lynette give us to do next time....

A Friend from the past

Yesterday I had to find a friend from years ago. My little old Bernina ,who I got a long time ago. Almost 30 years I think it must have been since I got her. She had made a lot of clothes when my daugthers was small, and she was a part of my early start in the Quilt world.... And now she has got a new start. (Short I hope) My Janome has got some data problems and are on hers way to see the sewingmaskin-docktor. I hope it will be a short stay....I realy love all the data-stuff when it works. ;-(
I have some realy good friends..... some days ago one of my friends , Lisbeth, called and asked where I was thinking to put my thimbles and askes if I want to have her case. I think that was a silly question. Of course I want it. ;-) So thank you Lisbeth, you are so kind. ;-) Look how great my thimbles my looks, and they has realy good space. I need more thimbles, so now I know what to whish if sombody askes. I have put some of my small angels in the case as well.
Yesterday Lapphøna and I persunade our husbonds to take a trip to Lillehammer. Of course we had a reason to go. We had not visit the quilt store ,Quiltespesialisten, since two years ago. I had no acute need for fabrics, but when I got out on the street these great fabrics had steal their way into my handbag......It is realy hopless to be hard in a Quilt store. I even got me some new thinblers. One from Lillehammer and the other from Skibladner.
Look what I have manage to do with the fabrics I bougth at Katrines Quiltestue when I was in Oslo some weeks ago. I have started on the Simple Pleasures Quilt. ;-) To day I have prepare 5 more smal stitchery blocks. I think I will do mostly hand sewing untill I got my maskine home...
I also work on several Swap's Here are a sneak peek on my Four Seasons Quilt Swap. The summer quilt. Starting to get ready to take a trip out in the world. I have also started on my Miniature Booty Quilt.... and to day I have signed up at The Stitched Angels Swap...Always enough to do. I also work on some Gift Quilts that I will show later.....

To day I read on Kim's blog that there were snow in Bundarra....I'm so happy I got summer. But I want to wish every body who like snow in July A merry July Christmas. Take care and enjoy snow.....I will enjoy summertime as long as I can get it.

Summer vacation

I went to Oslo last week. Mostly to get new glasses, but I had to do some shopping too. So Nemo and I went to Katrines Quiltestue, for the first time with a memo. I got all I wanted and a lot more..... I got these fabrics from American Jane Patterns. I love the brigth colours and the suit with my new Tin.Nemo had found them in a shop, and it is obvious that I need one for my summer sewing. ;-) The tin contain letter biscuits, the only food I was allowed to play with when I was a child. I have spelled God sommer. It means Have a nice summer.
I have got some new thimbles. One from Elverum where I work. The one with the Moose. And two from Oslo. One with St. Halvard and the other with The Palace on.King Harald are living there.Once Lapphøna and I went on a guided tour in the Palace,I got my keyring then. You can read Det kongelige slott( Kings palace) on it. But it is sad to tell , on the other side it says ...Copy. ;-) The other keyring I belive I bought when it was Olympics Games on Lillehammer here in Norway.Lynette has a Give-away on her blog if you show your keyrings.
Here are more great buyings from the trip. The pattern from Hatched and Patched and the little dog keyring was on my Memo. But the fabrics just jumped into my shoping bag.....
One of the most importend thing to buy was this fabrics, so I could be able to do the Simple Pleasures Quilt.I love this little book from Hatched and Patched and want to make everything in it. As you can see I have started. One little stitchery done, 11 more to do.It will be my summer relaxation.
At last I want to show some of my roses from the garden. I got vacation and plenty of time to sew and enjoy my self ,so all I have to ask for are some summer days with lots of sun and a little warmth. It has been enough rain..

Summer Colours

To day I got a vistit from Lappehøna , and she tok this great photo of Jacob.Look how nice and grey his new feather is. He has got a lot new. May be he wants to show how great he can be in summer as vel as all the great colours we can watch every where in early summer.
Here are a photo of my Lupines. I realy enjoy them. Lots of diffrent colours with the bright green leaves and the grass.
I even got colours at night. Some nights ago I took this photo at midnight. If the photo are kind you can see two rainbows.
This are taken at the same time, but poiting up north. The sun are hardly away during the night. Jacob find it hard to sleep. It never goes dark, but to tell a sesret....It is only 6 months untill Christmas, an then it is dark all the time here.
When I see all the colours out doors I want to play with colours too. So this week I have made 7 coasters and two more pin cushions. All in realy great colours. I realy feel I have done a great job.. I don't like to make Paper Pieced Hexagons,and now I have done all this. I feel great. ;-)
Last week the postman has been great with me. ;-) I have got a lot of mail. From Honeysuckle Cottage I got Leannes new pattern,Two Brown hens and Simple Pleasures from Hatched and Patched. I also got a parsel from Nothern Quilts. It was a new Designer Parsel. This time it was a little wall quilt named; Pæresommer. (Pearsummer)
Here are how it turned out. I made it yesterday and to day, so now it hangs in my hall, tellig everybody it realy are summer!
Look what a nice pressent I got from Lapphøna, another thimble from Trysil , this with a bear on.I realy have to be more clever to collect. I'm going to Oslo to morrow , so I have to remember to look for thimbles there......
I think I have something more to look after. I will visit Katrines Quiltestue, and for the first time with a shopping list. :-)

Great Friends.

Last week was a lovely week. I had my birthday and had a lot of fun with my friends. Here are a spontaneous clebration in the shop, thanks to Abyquilt who brought the cake.The cake was excellent and so are the girls to.
I even got some quilting present together with all the other wonderful presents I got.I got one new thimble (from Hønefoss)and fabric with Sunbonnet Girl. Nemo realy made me speechless. She had made me to giftbags and filled them with Jelly Bean and Skittles( I even got Skittles together with a beautiful T-skirt from my oldest daugther)I have two lovely daugthers. But it was the books that I got from Nemo and her boyfriens that made me speechless.All the three Pattern books from Elm Creek.Guess who has a lot of ideeas and things she want to do.... ;-)
Almost as a birtday gift I got this wonderfull Spring Fling Round Robin to call my own. Marissa has made the center.Kate the first border. Kari the second border and Carol has quilted it. They has made a great job. I love it. Thank you girls.
I was clever last week , I took a trip to Lappehøna on my bicycle. The first time this year. I will try to do it more often this summer.Here are Lapphøna with one of her hen, name Anne Siri. I belive the hen think she are one of us girls. She use to came running to get some comfort and have a chat with us. ;-)
Look wat I found on my trip. Lily Of the Valley and a new quilt magasine.Quilts and More. There are some great ideas in it. I have started to do some coasters in bright colours.I will show you later. Look how great the bag I got from Gail suit my bike.
My friend Lisbeth where staying one night last week, so we had to invite Lappehøna to chat and have a little workshop.We had to inagurate my new sewing area. In advace Lisbeth and I had to go to the Golf links. We had to get Tee. Not as easy as I belive it would be.We could not get it in the other sports shops near by. But after a lot of laughing and telling what we should do with it we got it. No problem to buy, but I didn't know how it looks like or how tall I wanted it to be. The girl in the shop had to visit Arlettes blog to see. Take a look , it is filled with great ideas.
