Start of the "Quilt Seasong"....

To days photo are from the bridge and as you can see the last days windy weather has made all the leaves disappear. It was 3 degress below zero this morning, so now the nature are prepare for winter and snow. Now it is time to start "the quilt" season, as they call it in the Elm Creek book I'm reading now. I got The Aloha Quilts as my bed-reading. Great book - but I read english realy slow :-)
My thimble collection are still growing thanks to great friend ... This two are from the northern part of Norway.Harstad, where my mother spend most of her childhood, and The Artctic Circle. Thank you Nancy and May Britt. ;-) I have never been so far north., but a great dream of mine are to take a trip with the Hurtigruta. In Mach next year I'm going to Tromsø - NQF annual meeting are going to be there. Guess ho are looking forward to be there and meet all the other quilting ladies......

I have been clever and manage to do a little Quilting so far this month .... a little wall quilt to hang over my bed.I love the fabrics in the frame- I hope you can see all the small angels.
I have also made Emma a knitted sweater to use in the kindergarten.- I hope she and her mum like it... ;-)
The kids are growing- Here are Peder with his new bibs. He got them the last time I saw him. It is a fun and useful way to use funny fabrics :-) Peder are a big boy now with two teeth.
And Emma are almost ready to walk out to meet the world- the carriage are safe to walk with --- just in case. ;-)
It will be so fun to meet them again soon...

Have a great start of The Quilt Season... I hope to be able to finish a lot of my UFO's now.

Start of the dark fall...

Now it is the start of the dark time of the year... It is the time when I love to sit inside and stitch by the fire...
I have manage to get some finish this last week... I have to start to use my new sewing area... So after a year Butterfly Bouquet are done. I start to make it at Quiltegården when Leanne and Gail where in Norway.
The other finish this time are a coat for Peder. I belive he need it now- the summer are gone in Oslo too.
I even got some new thimbles to show you. I got them from Bjørg- I don't remember where it is from ( Bad memory?? ), Lisbeth from Riga and my brother Bjørn who has been on Svalbard. Thank you all, I love the thimbles.
Guess who are feelig great?? I'm done with the challenge from the quiltguild. It is Abyquilt who are giving us this challenge...Two new blocks next month, a new little quilt by summer. Fun ;-)


I promise her , May Britt to show photos from my new sewing rooms, when it is all done and every thing are tidy... Well as tidy as it can be... Ok I have to get up some little curtain here to spare the fabric...
Here in my sewing room Here I need all the ligth I can get... Ups... some one has been using it. There are leftovers on the table ;-) I have made the top of Red Brolly's Christmas quilt from Homespun. (Show you later )
Here are my sewing room from the door- notice the radio., I play music when I sew.. To day it was Dr Hook - Yes I know-- A big surprice for the people who realy know me ;-)))
I know there will be a lot of music from this rooms now ;-)

There are two small "ladies" I have wanted to show you for a long time. Are they not beautiful - I got them years ago from Nemo. She was only a school girl when she made them for me.The one in the yellow dress are named Whoopi Dollberg. Think you all can tell who she named her after..

This days I'm moving around and organize almost every thing in my home, so may be there will be more fun and sweet memories to show you next time. Untill then have fun and take care.

With a lot of help from my friends..

I got a new sewing room , to tell the true - I got two. Not all done yet, but I have to show you. May Britt and I have had a busy weekend. And to day Bjørg came and help us. ;-)
To get all the photos in correct order you have to start at the bottom .... ( I'm tired and bloglines are" lazy"so you can do what you want by it .... ;-)
Also - my Janome in front og the window...

And in the next room ... FABRICS... Lots and lots of fabrics , and kits, and magasines, and a copy machine..... and the Witsh quilt on the wall....( self-portrait???) LOL


Here are the working girl...May Britt doing what she told me to do the whole day... Throw away stuff I don't need or use....
Bjørg organize my sewing cotton .... Wonder if I dare to use it.... ;-)
And my self ... looking and wondering when will I ever manage to finish all my UFO's and make all I want/need to do .... Oh- it is hard to be a quilt-girl. LOL
This is the end of my "old" sewing area.. Now it will be the living room in the hiring out part of my house, as it use to be.. Easy come - easy go...

Indian summer .... Soon ???

I have been on a day trip to my friend Lisbeth's (no blog) cabin.Her family has a beautifull cabin not far from here - with a lot of quilts.. But I didn't got photos from inside... I will show you next time I visit the cabin. I hope it will be soon. But I got a photo of the view. Isn't Trysil great ? ;-)
This summer there has been a challenge in my Quilt association. We got a small piece of the figured fabric -- and this is my little quilt. A little sewing boks with a lot of sewing tool. ( buttons)
If you go her you can see what the other did... Lots of great work.
I have also manage to do the 5. of the bags from the Bagalicious Club... Melly and Me great Sunrise bag . I have not been able to do the Wallet yet- but all the pieces are on my sewing table... So I promice it will be done ;-)... This is a great club hosting by Sarah at QFD. And I know the next bag are in mail .. More to look forward to ;-)))
I have also done the two first blocks of Lynette's In my Garden BOM. And yes I can't put them next to each other.... I used the same fabrics on the last border... I didn't notice untill it was all done .... I have to concentrate on the next block ;-)
Here where I live fall has realy put his foot down now... It has been a lot of rain and this nigth was cold. Below zero... Brrrrr... So I have to enjoy my indors flower... Jacob are tasting the berries on my " Kunskapens tre" I don't know the English or the Latin name of this flower...
But it taste like "shit" Jacob tell me ... and let it stay.. ;-))They told me in the Flower Shop it tasted bitter...
Soon I will be of to visit Emma and Peder for some days ( luckey me) and leaving Jacob with his Baby ( Bird) sitters ;-) I hope for great "Indian Summer" days.
I'm also like Nemo looking forward to Christmas... Thinking about what to make for my Secret Santa Christmas Swap friend.. Thanks to Donna who are running this once again ... I love all the fun of this swap...

Summer berry....

A long time ago there was a song named Puff the little dragon.. A sweet little song- and now I have my own little dragon ;-)
Peder and his mum has been staying at my house for a week, and it is so great to be abel to follow him on his way to be a big boy..
Late summer here in Norway means Wildberry....Realy yummy...Fore some Peder says.. He tried Blueberry for the first time here - not realy fresh from the woods- but as infant food.Overpraised I belive was his opinion. And the poor boy all dressed in pink... It is hard to be a boy in a girls world ;-)
This is the second summer for Emma - so she know how to enjoy wildberry.... Strawberry and raspberry are her favorite. Here she are in deep concentration over a bowl of raspberry...
She could not put the bowl down untill it was all clean and free from all the berry with vanilla kesam. ;-)
Emma has entered nursery school... So now it is realy working days for her had her mum, but it seems like Emma enjoy to be with all the children;-)
Luckey for me I will be visting them both soon :-)
On my sewing area there has been lazy days for a while now ..... put I have some " want to do"- items... one of it are this great little wallquilt by Red Brolly. The pattern are in Homespun no.86.Vol.11 No 7. So on my last stay in Oslo I had to take a trip to Katrines Quiltestue for fabrics. ( nice excuse ;-)) I manage to get me some more just need items. Two small Schnibbles pattern - some new Seasons thread - a green fabric ( just because...) and hexagon flowers from Busy fingers...
I have also got some great mail .... Lynette Andersons new book It's Quilting Cats & Dogs... Oh -- It is soo great - I want to do a lot from it. Wonder where to start. .... So I realy have to rush to my sewing area and start to work ..... ;-)
I even got this DVD in mail. I won a giveaway on Sue Daley's blog...Lot of more ideas I want to try... Thank you Sue - I have to start something soon... ;-)

So now I almost wait for bad weather with rain and wind... great sewing weather .... so I can start to work on some of my new ideas. Hope I will be able to show something next time.. Soon I hope :-)

... and this was July...

In last minute I manage to do one finish this month too.... This July has been soo strange and busy, so I have to be pleased to manage to do a little on the sewing front. But in August I need to sew a lot.... and I know there will be some great sewing days to look forward to... ;-)
This little wall quilt are A Stitcher's Priority by The Birdhouse. A great way to use some of my scraps.
I have been busy home this summer, but I got some great family members who has been travelling... I got this thimbles from my aunt. She has been on a Cruise in the Mediterranean and luckey for me she remembered to buy thimbles for me. :-)
I got this from my brother,who has been travelling in Norway. I'm soo pleased when they remember my collection of thimbles... So a big thank you to both of you ;-) Hmmm I wonder if I should take a day and count thimbles.
I have had great visit this month... The whole family has been here in Trysil celebrating Peder's christening. It was a great day. And luckey for me they all stay for at last a week. For the first time Emma and Peder was here together. Emma was giving me a helping had organize the scrap from my life. A little quilting lady?? Time will show- but next week she are going to start at the nursery school and her mum back to work. I can't belive how fast time runs...
Oh -- do you want to have a litte look of the christening child.... LOL.. Here he is Peder Arian ;-)
He was clever and sleep almost all the time.Great guy ;-)
I will show more next time - Peder and his mum are comming to stay for a week soon, it will be a sewing week... ( If I can wake up my sewing machine who has been disregarded the whole of month)
I hope to be back with a lot to show soon -- I have started to use my scrap - once again - and have a lot I want to do .... As usual... LOL

June means summer .....

I did manage to finish this quilt from last post... Guess who feel great. So now my Tote Bag are empty , and all the Ginger Blossom fabrics are used.Fore the first time I quilted by using Stipples made easy. Fun but hard work on a quilt this "big". It make me wish I had a longarm machine...


I have been busy re-organize my sewing area during the last week. It was a total mess, I had to put everything in order. So now I know what has been hiding ;-) I found a lot of well hiding smal fabrics samplers, so now I'm in the mood of playing with small pieces once again. I'm thinking on making me some small "minne-brikker" I dont know how to translate this --- Hm-- Memory doily... I will show you some beautiful day :-)

I have also got some great smal pieces of fabrics in my mail box... Milk Chocolate and charm pack from Moda. Thanks to the pattern in the Chocolate box I got an idea what to make from it ;-)
It is realy summer here in Trysil now.Warm summer days and realy green.This is a photo across the river to where I live.
And I have got a new "friend" He or she jumps up in the window sill , hope I will notice and offer some bread or somthing else to eat.Of course I give the cute little fellow something.
I have also manage to do some quilting stuf... This little wallquilt are a UFO from a long time ago.I don't know or remember where I found the pattern, but it is from a miniature book. I used the selvage from old fabrics , so there are a lot of great memories in it. I took my quilts out doors this time and the small blue flowers above are Forget-me-not flowers. It suit this little quilt--- almost forgotten ;-)

I have been clewer and have done the 4.of the bags from the Bagalicious Club.Beaufort Bag from Hugs'n Kisses.Fun and easy pattern , and it holds a lot ;-) This Club are soo fun , I wonder how the last 4 bags looks like ;-)
